The Impact of the T-3 Sea Toll Program on Price Disparity

Abstract

The sea toll program facilitates and streamlines the transportation of goods through sea transportation for logistics distribution needs in archipelagic areas lacking adequate transportation infrastructure. The program offers benefits not only for the price stability of basic commodities but also for regional economic development. This study aims to analyze the impact of sea toll benefits on price disparities, specifically in the Tarempa area along Sea Toll Route T-3. The research employed a quantitative method, with data analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the data analysis show that the sea toll program on the T-3 route is associated with price disparities in basic goods and essential materials. The Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value obtained was 0.06, exceeding the 0.05 threshold, leading to the acceptance of H0—indicating no significant difference between prices before and after the implementation of the sea toll. Based on the Wilcoxon test results for staple goods prices, the study concludes that there is no significant difference between conditions before and after the introduction of the sea toll program.
